“As half Greek, half German Americans in Boston, Massachusetts, we chose the clarinet as the instrument for our son, Oliver many years ago since it transcends many cultures and genres. In Greece it is the key instrument for the traditional folk songs and in the US it is one of the pillars in jazz and blues. It is also prevalent in classical music. Hence we were delighted to connect with Spyros for clarinet lessons, since he is very adept in all of these genres and makes the clarinet music come alive for us!
Spyros’ dexterity, technique and musical skill are unsurpassed! Throughout the year, since we are separated by the Atlantic, our lessons occur weekly by “Facetime” or “Skype”, but when we are on vacation in Greece, Oliver’s lessons occur in person! Over the last five years, Oliver has truly enjoyed his lessons with Spyros and as a result has become quite the little skilful clarinet player, (age 13), also performing solos in several concerts! Spyros has our wholehearted endorsement!”
